Environmentally Friendly Gloves

A dental clinic goes through a lot of gloves, and we mean A LOT!

Unfortunately, to keep our patients safe and reduce cross contamination, we use disposable gloves. These gloves are typically made out of nitrile or latex. Some dental staff members, due to materials sensitivities, can only use one type of gloves. Historically, we would use regular nitrile gloves that took over 200 years to fully biodegrade. In an effort to make our practice as environmentally friendly as possible, we have switched to a glove that biodegrades 10x faster than regular nitrile gloves. It comes at a higher cost to our office, but we believe it is worth it to reduce our negative impact.

Our biodegradable nitrile gloves are Health Canada certified, changed between every patient, comply with ASTM D6319 and D5511, developed specifically for medical use, the manufacturer tests each batch to ensure full barrier protection, and are ISO 9001 and 13485 certified.
